Well, Yeah… Okay
There are lots of times in our lives where things are happening and you really just have to accept it as it goes. Sadly, more often than not, this ends up being The Bad Things; rent going up, bad date after bad date, working an awful shift then burning your tongue on dinner and dropping the whole plate on the floor in shock. But there also those times for The Good Things; finding $20 on the street, meeting someone you can talk to for hours, getting take-out and seeing they gave you a huge portion or freebie. The biggest part of The Bad & Good Things is how you handle them.
Of course, that is usually easier said than done. Some of us get an overload of The Bad Things before getting even a crumb of The Good Things, and that’s a helluva deal to get. Being able to savor those times filled with joy is just as important as handling the ones of sadness or frustration. This works differently for everyone, so do try and figure out how you can enjoy and cope with balance. Maybe it’s saying to yourself, “I am so happy to make my coffee exactly how I like it and spend this little moment in the morning enjoying it.” Or it could look more like gritting your teeth and remembering that as soon as you get home, you can get into comfy clothes and rant to yourself about what a shitty day you just had while taking a huge rong bip.
The only constant in anyone’s life is themselves, so do your best to get comfy, secure, and confident with who you are and how you treat yourself. You will always be your own hero (or villain), so make don’t forget how strong you are.
