Things We Can All Enjoy

As we draw in closer to the holiday season, I feel like this year is a little less special than usual. Now there are plenty of reasons for that, so I won’t get into anything here, but I’m sure we all have our lists. But as someone who’s biggest love language is gift giving, I still manage to get excited about finding funtastic things for those people we care most about. In the hesitant years it’s taken me to endeavor into blogging, I kept thinking about gift guides and how rigidly similar they always are. I’m sure they’re helpful for many people, but it just never showed me anything I would ever actually picture giving someone that I knew closely. With that being said, I want to share all kinds of ideas for gifts - all of the time! - because there’s no reason not to make someone see they’re cared for.

I also get deterred by all the sponsored and affiliated marketing that goes along with making gift guides. (I realize that this is a real job for lots of people, and it would be great to benefit me as well, it just seems icky.) Sure, it’s an unavoidable truth that you will end up in a big box store for a lot of items, but being able to create something special or find just the right cursed object in a thrift store is what makes it a real treasure. Hopefully they make their ways to the right people, but that’s up to you. I want to be more of a gift guider, offering interesting options instead of specific items.
